Shoshana Nambi, a young woman leader of the 1,500-member Abayudaya Jewish community of Uganda.

Shoshana is visiting New York with Kulanu.org to help raise funds for two Abayudaya schools educating and feeding more than 700 Jewish, Christian, and Muslim children.

Kulanu (Heb. “All of Us”) is a non-profit organization that supports isolated and emerging Jewish communities around the world.

Shoshana attended a Kulanu High School and is one of the community’s first women university graduates. She is founder and leader of RAIN Uganda, providing screening and counseling for AIDS and cervical cancer in rural areas.

Shoshana will share the story of Abayudaya Jewish community, the life of it’s women – as well as sing Abayudaya music in Hebrew and Luganda.
